Summary

This is the story of that intrepid band of people who kept Gordonstoun going through the 1930s, against all odds. It features the lives of 30 men and women who came to know Kurt Hahn and were persuaded by his novel educational ideas. Many of those ideas have filtered through to all educational establishments, including the need to integrate boarding schools with the locality in which they are situated.
