Garmouth and Kingston : A brief history

Wallen, Robert
Books, Manuscripts
Garmouth, and the closely-related settlement of Kingston, may seem, now, very much to be a backwater. However, the two villages over time been influenced by, and have influenced, political, social, technical and economic developments in Scotland, across Britain and beyond. The book is in two parts. The first is and overview history, focused primarily on Garmouth and Kingston but covering broader issues relating to Moray, Scotland, Britain, Europe and the World where they are important to provide context for how things developed in these villages. The second part focuses on two interconnected families who were significant in the development on Garmouth and Kingston in the 19thC. This may be of most interest to those who are related to them, but hopefully will be of some interest to all readers.
