"One of Scotland's smallest tramway operators, the Aberdeen Suburban was an oddity which should not really have existed as a separate concern. Both its routes were continuations of Corporation lines, which meant that access to the city centre - and thus much if its traffic - was controlled by the Corporation. The company survived as a tramway operator until bus competition, deteriorating equipment and a final break with the Corporation forced closure in 1927".
