Abstract: This book tells the history of Boddam Castle, once owned by the Keiths of Ludquharn, and of sinister Slains Castle, said to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker's "Dracula". It is also the story of the six fishing villages which grew up in the shadow of the castles: Boddam, Buller o'Buchan, Collieston, Cruden Bay, Oldcastle and Whinnyfold.
