Please note that from the 30^th March 2026 updated opening hours will be in effect across the library network:

Elgin library, including The Learning Centre and The Local Heritage Centre, will be closed between the 9^th and the 30th of March for refurbishment.

Pop Up Library - 9th till 25th March

During this time we will host a pop-up library in our Gallery at Elgin Library. Here you will be able to drop by and return books, pick up reservations, browse a limited collection of books, or use a PC. We will still be running planned groups (such as Bookbugs, Memories Scotland, Knit n Natter and Storytimes) as normal. We will also offer signposting and support for council services, including bus passes. The pop up will run until Weds 25^th March inclusive.

Reservations of books held at Elgin

During the refurbishment, not all stock based at Elgin will be available for us to satisfy your reservations.  You can still place the reservation, however even if showing as available in Elgin, the reservation may not be satisfied until after the 30^th of March.  If another copy is available at another branch we will endeavour to get that copy to you.

We will be back open for business as usual on the 30th of March and we look forward to seeing you in our bright new space then.
