SLIC National Survey 2026

The Scottish Library Information Council (SLIC) is currently running the national Scottish Libraries User Survey under the "Bridging the Gap" initiative. The survey is designed to collect feedback from both library users and non-users to shape the future of library communication, community connection, and service development across Scotland.

As a library user you can let SLIC know about how you use your local library and what difference it makes to you. The survey takes about 6 minutes. All answers are anonymous and will help shape the future of public libraries in Scotland.

You can complete the survey using either of the following methods:

  • Online Participation: Fill out the digital questionnaire – click here
  • In-Person Participation: Physical paper copies of the survey are available at the front desks of local branches, and staff are available to assist anyone needing help completing it

The survey is live until the 30th of June 2026
